The intelligent railcar unloading system has arrived.
Unload sticky dry bulk materials like DDGs and meals from railcars safely and rapidly with a powerful robotic arm. Requires less than 25 feet of headspace.

The Challenge
In a perfect world, bulk materials would flow freely, and under the right conditions, many do. Unfortunately, certain products, like dried distillers’ grains (DDGs), corn gluten, soybean meal, wheat midds, and other fine materials can cake and hang up inside truck and railcar hoppers, creating a nightmare for loadout facilities.
All manner of unsafe methods are employed to free this stuck material – air lances, mauls, vibrators, ramming and shaking, wacky homemade contraptions, and endless pounding with sledgehammers. These activities threaten worker health and safety, damage railcars, and reduce productivity.

A Safer Solution
The HopperBot by Pneumat Systems works by driving a powerful coring cylinder down through the densely-packed material, creating a flow channel to the discharge gate. A rugged robotic arm with a wide range of motion is then maneuvered around inside the hopper, freeing material from difficult-to-reach areas with a rotating cutting head. Wireless remote controls allow the operator to safely and efficiently empty the car while staying out of harm's way.
The HopperBot's low-profile design requires only 25 feet of headspace, meaning it can be installed in most loadout facilities without expensive ceiling renovations.
